DESCRIBE David J. Mooney, PhD, is the Robert P. Pinkas Family Professor of Bioengineering at the John A. Paulson Harvard School of Applied Sciences and Engineering. He is also a member of the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University. Dr. Mooney earned his PhD in chemical engineering from MIT. Dr. Mooney’s studies the mechanisms by which chemical and mechanical signals are sensed by cells to promote tissue growth and remodeling. Dr. Mooney designs and synthesizes new biomaterials that regulate the gene expression of interacting cells for tissue engineering and drug delivery projects.
