On the morning of May 4th, in the California state capital of Sacramento, nearly 200 guests including Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Congresswoman Doris Matsui, UC Davis Chancellor Gary May, and special guests Consul General Zhang Jianmin from the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco and Chief Representative Antonio Yung of Sacramento's representative office in China gathered to celebrate the the topping off of the first building in the Aggie Square project, a science and innovation center built by UC Davis in Sacramento. Kevin Xu, Chairman of MEBO Group and a partner in the project, was invited as a special guest to attend the celebration and exchanged ideas with Chancellor Gary May and Consul General Zhang Jianmin on how to assist the project in becoming a cluster-type science and innovation center that integrates universities, enterprises, and public service departments, similar to the Xu Rongxiang Biomedical Innovation Center ( Bioscience Valley in Los Angeles) unveiled in April at the University of California, Los Angeles. It would focus on promoting local technological innovation, employment, and economic development.
