MEBO (HK) Foundation Launches Global Public Welfare Initiative Honoring Professor Rongxiang Xu
On February 28, 2026, distinguished guests, donors, volunteers, and corporate representatives convened at the Hong Kong campus of the University of Chicago to commemorate the 68th anniversary of Rongxiang Xu and the eighth anniversary of International Regenerative Medicine Day. The occasion also marked the official launch of the MEBO (HK) Foundation, reinforcing MEBO Group’s long-term commitment to advancing global health through regenerative medicine and structured public welfare initiatives.

The ceremony opened with the announcement of the Foundation’s inaugural leadership team by Executive Chairman Liu Gang, signaling the formal establishment of its governance framework. A thematic video presentation outlined the Foundation’s mission: leveraging scientific innovation to expand equitable access to regenerative medical care worldwide.
Chairman Yang Zhibin reflected on Professor Xu’s scientific contributions and humanitarian values, noting that meaningful commemoration lies in sustained action—supporting research, strengthening education, and delivering medical assistance to underserved communities.
Vice Chair Zhang Qian introduced the Foundation’s three strategic pillars: an Education Fund to cultivate future medical talent, a Medical Assistance Fund to support patients in need, and an International Public Welfare Fund to advance global collaboration. Together, these initiatives define a five-year roadmap focused on education, clinical support, and cross-border partnerships.

In her closing remarks, Founder and Honorary Chair Li Li emphasized that public welfare is built on collective participation. Launching in Hong Kong, the Foundation aims to serve as a regional hub linking the Greater Bay Area with international partners, advancing health equity through professional, sustainable engagement.
