MEBO Group Was Invited to Participate in the International Women's Day Celebration Organized by the Bay Area Council

  On March 8th, the Bay Area Council held International Women's Day Celebration in San Francisco, bringing its member organizations together to work towards the vision of building a more diverse and inclusive, and fairer gender-equal world free from bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

  MEBO Group was invited to attend event. Kevin Xu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MEBO Group, said that "Embracing Equity" was not only the right thing to do, but also the only choice for creating a more sustainable world. MEBO Group had been committed to creating a dynamic environment of employment that prioritizes women's rights and development through building broad partnerships, and bringing positive change for female employees within the company and throughout society.

  As a life sciences enterprise with the mission of "saving lives", MEBO Group had been committed to sustainable development and "Gender Equality Goals". It regarded empowering women and promoting gender equality as an important pillar of global sustainable development. Together with international organizations and public welfare institutions, it promoted women and children's health and charitable causes, and helped to realize gender equality in the workplace, market, and community life. MEBO Group contributed a lot to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 5 "Gender Equality" and SDG 3 "Good Health and Well-being".

  In April 2022, MEBO Group joined the "Women's Empowerment Principles" initiative launched by UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact, and participated in the "Gender Equality Goals (TGE)" enterprise accelerator project in China launched by the United Nations Global Compact-China in August of the same year. It launched "Life Regeneration Action" globally, offered training to professionals on female burns and wounds care, collaborated with Project Angle Food to provide food to poor families with children. It implemented its commitment to women's empowerment through concrete actions, promoting diversity, equality, and inclusiveness at the community and global levels.

  Ten years ago, the San Francisco Bay Area Commission launched a gender equality initiative, which later evolved into a diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative. The Bay Area Council had been leading and supporting the development of family-friendly policies that aim at help women in their career. It also asked its Economic Institute to provide various basic data support for promoting gender equality.

  Other organizations participating in this celebration event are: All Home, Bayer, Blackstone Group, Clorox, CSAA, San Francisco State University, Skanska, and the University of the Pacific.
