KXI Think Tank Was Invited to Attend the “Future of Global Higher Education" Conference

  The conference, jointly organized by Penn Global and the Penn Graduate School of Education at the University, was be held on March 17. Thought leaders and education experts from around the gathered together to explore the opportunities and challenges facing higher education in today's highly interconnected and rapidly changing world. Abhilash Mishra, the director of the KXI think tank at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, was invited to attend the conference and expressed important views on the "Future of Global Research Collaboration".
  In this turbulent era, the need for international partnerships and cooperation in higher education is more evident than ever before. Cross-border cooperation in education not only promotes tolerance and understanding between different ethnicities, cultures, and traditions, but also inspires innovation and creates opportunities for joint efforts to address urgent global issues. The conference conducted in-depth discussions on three aspects: "The Future of Global Research Collaboration", "The Future of Global Student Mobility and Exchange", and "The Future of Global Academic Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing". It also reflected on the nature and direction of global partnerships between higher education institutions.
  The KXI think tank had been committed to establishing international partnerships with platforms that share the same mission and values, such as United Nations, universities, public and non-profit organizations. Some world's top universities and research institutions, such as Tsinghua University, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the California Institute of Technology, and the Aspen Institute, were all global research collaboration partners of the KXI think tank. The KXI think tank had made significant and commendable success in building partnerships. Based on that, Abhilash Mishra, the director of the KXI think tank, expressed views on the "Future of Global Research Collaboration" at this conference, further elaborating on the value of global collaboration in research.
  Leaders from top universities in Asia, Europe, and Africa, as well as experts in fields such as data science, public policy, and international development, attended the conference. L. Rafael Reif, the 17th president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Ezekiel Emanuel, the vice provost for global initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania, gave keynote speeches as special guests of the conference. This conference was also one of the series of activities celebrating the tenth anniversary of Penn Global's establishment at the University of Pennsylvania.
  This conference marked the first collaboration between the KXI think tank and the University of Pennsylvania. In the future, the KXI think tank would continue to engage in dialogue and cooperation with partners from around the world to shape the future of higher education. Through global research collaboration and innovation, we should make more efforts to build a more equitable and sustainable future.
