MEBO and Sacramento Kings Launch Youth Basketball & Cultural Exchange Event
On July 7, 2024, MEBO Group and the NBA Sacramento Kings kicked off the MEBO-NBA Sacramento Kings Youth Basketball & Cultural Exchange Event at the YUE Sports Chongqing National Expo Youth Sports Center. This event brought together over 100 young basketball enthusiasts from Chongqing and Sacramento, lighting up their dreams.
Star-Studded Opening Ceremony
The ceremony saw attendance from prominent figures like MEBO Group President Yang Zhibin, Sacramento's Chief China Representative Antonio Yung, Kings' President of Operations John Rinehart, VP of Entertainment Maurice Brazelton, and NBA legend Vlade Divac.
Antonio Yung spoke about the importance of building friendships between Chinese and American youth through basketball. John Rinehart emphasized the core values of teamwork, fair play, and perseverance that the sport instills. Maurice Brazelton highlighted the significance of systematic training for young athletes, and Vlade Divac shared inspiring stories from his career.
Enhancing US-China Sports Collaboration
President Yang Zhibin reaffirmed MEBO's dedication to promoting sports exchanges between China and the U.S., bringing advanced NBA training systems to Chongqing for a comprehensive and enjoyable basketball learning experience.
A Milestone in Partnership
Since 2018, MEBO and the Kings have collaborated on numerous initiatives, including COVID-19 relief, supporting emergency responders, and aiding burn and deaf children. This event represents another milestone in their partnership and commitment to social responsibility.
Over the next three years, MEBO will continue to collaborate with Sacramento, the Kings, and Chongqing to develop youth basketball and foster cultural exchanges, nurturing future basketball stars with a global outlook.
