MEBO Group and Julphar: Celebrating 30 Years of Strategic Collaboration in Global Healthcare

On September 13, 2024, MEBO Group Chairman Kevin Xu welcomed a distinguished delegation from Julphar to MEBO's Shanghai Biotech facility. Led by His Highness Sheikh Saqr Bin Humaid Al Qassimi, CEO Basel Ziyadeh, and Chief Strategy Officer Juergen Lauterbach, the delegation was greeted by Vice Presidents Liu Gang and Shang Qingxin.

Strengthening a Three-Decade Partnership 

The visit kicked off with a strategic meeting where both parties reflected on their long-standing partnership and discussed future opportunities for deepening cooperation. Topics included strengthening mutual trust, expanding diverse business collaborations, and exploring innovative opportunities. Chairman Xu warmly welcomed the delegation, recalling his first meeting with Sheikh Saqr in Ras Al Khaimah in 2019. He also highlighted MEBO Group's recent global initiatives, particularly the successes of the 2023 MEBO APEC Summit. Xu expressed his hope that APEC would serve as a platform for even broader collaboration between MEBO and Julphar, especially in the fields of entertainment, sports, and public projects, contributing to a better global future.

Touring MEBO’s Advanced Facilities 

After the discussions, the Julphar delegation toured MEBO’s GMP facility and production lines, as well as the MEBO Memorial Museum in Shanghai. The visitors were impressed by MEBO's rich history, cutting-edge technology, and modern production capabilities. The delegation expressed admiration for Kevin Xu’s global vision and expressed confidence in a bright future of shared growth and innovation.

Julphar, the largest pharmaceutical company in the Middle East, is a key player in the region, benefiting from its strategic location, robust market system, and strong financial capacity. Since 1995, MEBO and Julphar have built a solid and inseparable partnership, expanding MEBO’s footprint in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. In 2018, the two companies collaborated on the “Every Woman, Every Child” regeneration initiative in Egypt and Lebanon, marking a new chapter in their global health efforts.

About Julphar

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), officially known as the United Arab Emirates, is composed of seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi as the capital, Dubai as the economic hub, and Ras Al Khaimah, the fourth-largest emirate, serving as the country’s industrial center. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi is the son of the former ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi. Their strategic cooperation has rapidly expanded into international markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The current Julphar chairman, Sheikh Saqer Bin Humaid Al Qasimi, is also a member of the Al Qasimi royal family.
