International Doctors Gather in Xi’an to Explore Innovations in Regenerative Medical Technology

From October 9 to 11, 2024, a distinguished group of 37 doctors from the Middle East, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Mongolia convened in Xi’an, China, for a dynamic three-day conference on regenerative medical technology. Hosted by the Burn, Plastic, and Cosmetic Surgery Department at Xi’an No. 9 Hospital, this event underscored the hospital’s nearly three decades of pioneering wound care using advanced regenerative techniques. Known as a leader in Shaanxi Province, the department combines regenerative medical technology with cutting-edge methods like autologous micro-grafting to treat complex burn and chronic wound cases. This event offered valuable insights, furthering the hospital's mission to advance regenerative medical technology expertise.

Key Highlights from the Three-Day Conference

The first two days featured academic presentations and tours of the hospital’s burn unit. Dr. Zhang Li discussed essential protocols for large-area burn treatments. Further, Drs. An Hongzhao, Liu Jiaming, and Zhao Binhong showcased the application of regenerative medical technology in treating diabetic foot ulcers, necrotizing fasciitis, and pressure sores. Dr. Xiao Houan, department head, provided a hands-on demonstration of bedside applications, detailing skin graft procedures and patient recovery processes.
