On May 9-10, 2024, MEBO International participated in the first and second innovation camps of the UN Global Compact SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals 2024 cohort. This dynamic event, hosted at the UN Compound in Beijing, provided MEBO an opportunity to showcase its leadership and innovation in sustainable development. During the first day, the company shared its innovative strategies and actions in sustainability, offering valuable insights to nearly 70 innovators from around 20 companies on how to integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into business practices.

Leadership in Sustainability

Zhang Qian, Vice President of MEBO, commenced her presentation with the story of Professor Rongxiang Xu, who developed a revolutionary treatment for burns, the Moist Exposed Burn Therapy (MEBT), and founded MEBO. She elaborated on MEBO's mission to alleviate the suffering of burn patients and improve human health and well-being. Zhang emphasized how MEBO uses advanced regenerative medical technologies for international medical training and global rescue missions. Additionally, she highlighted the company’s global sustainability efforts through the utilization of smart technologies and energy-saving initiatives, which have made a significant positive impact.

Furthermore, MEBO utilizes its inclusive global cooperation network and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) mechanism to engage stakeholders and expand sustainable development endeavors. Zhang encouraged the young innovators to draw inspiration from MEBO's journey, fostering innovation and collaboration for a more sustainable future.

The UN Global Compact SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals is capacity building programme designed to enhance the innovative capabilities of young professionals aged 35 or below in sustainable development. By fostering practical and innovative solutions, the programme helps businesses address sustainable development challenges. MEBO's involvement underscores its commitment to accelerating sustainable actions and demonstrates its ambition to create a broader impact.
