APEC 2024 Silicon Valley Summit & “Life Regeneration Action” World Tour: A Groundbreaking Start in Peru

The APEC 2024 Silicon Valley Summit, jointly hosted by MEBO International and the Bay Area Council, launched on November 9 in Peru, marking the beginning of APEC Leaders’ Week. This summit gathered prominent figures from the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U.S. Department of State, local nonprofits, and top leaders from business, government, and academia.

In his opening remarks, Kevin Xu—Chairman of MEBO Group and Co-Chair of the Bay Area Council’s International Committee—underscored the commitment to advancing trade and development within the Asia-Pacific region. He highlighted Silicon Valley’s unique potential to drive economic growth and foster partnerships across APEC economies, reflecting on 2023’s success, where the summit introduced collaborative initiatives with Hong Kong, China, and Vietnam.

Xu also revealed a key initiative as a San Francisco Zoo board member: bringing Peru’s national bird, the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, to the zoo. He hopes this exchange, alongside efforts to bring giant pandas from China, will symbolize peace and prosperity.

A standout event was the launch of MEBO’s “Life Regeneration Action” World Tour. Since 2015, this initiative has invested millions to support health, training, and disaster relief efforts, impacting millions globally and supporting over 100 hospitals.
