Kevin Xu Attended Rhodes Scholars Seminar and Offered Suggestions on Restructuring of Global Health System

The COVID-19 has spread rapidly in the world, causing great harm to human life and health, and profoundly affecting the global health governance. On January 10, Kevin Xu was invited to attend the Rhodes Scholars Seminar at Oxford University, on which he proposed to restructure the global health system.

His suggestions on restructuring global health system was based on his experience in building global emergency system for chronic wounds. He said that it was important to be fully aware the urgent need to restructure the global health system after COVID-19. First, a global response mechanism should be established based on the experience in wound repair with regenerative medicine; second, strengthening medical infrastructure of different countries was the key to restructure global medical system. MEBO has cooperated with more than 70,000 hospitals, medical units and clinics in 110 countries around the world and established a global disaster and rescue network.

The outbreak of COVID - 19 not only accelerates the research in biomedicine and virology, but also highlights the value of effective mechanism of global public health warning, control and response. Kevin hoped that more suggestions and feasible measures to the restructuring of global health system would be proposed at this seminar.
