Kevin Xu Was Invited to Visit Obama Foundation and University of Chicago Medical Center

From May 17th to 18th, Kevin Xu was invited to visit Obama Foundation and University of Chicago Medical Center.

Kevin Xu is a director of Obama Foundation. He had an in-depth exchange with Mr. Michael Strautmanis, executive vice president of the foundation, on how to promote cooperation between the Obama Foundation and University of Chicago to carry forward the ideas put forward by President Obama during his presidency about organ regeneration and brain project.

Kevin Xu, accompanied by Mr. Wieland, the senior director of the development department of the University of Chicago, visited the trauma center of the University of Chicago Medical Center and discussed with the founder and director Dr. Selwyn Rogers on how to further academic exchanges and research cooperation between Kevin Xu Initiative and the center. According to Dr. Rogers, there was a lack of trauma center in South Chicago, where the University of Chicago is located. Patients with severe injuries had to be transported to distant centers, often resulting in delay in treatment. In order to save lives, the University of Chicago Medical Center raised money from various parties and established the center in May 2018, addressing the urgent needs of trauma emergency care for patients in the surrounding areas.

During his trip, Kevin Xu also visited the Burn and Complex Trauma Center of the University of Chicago Medical Center, and exchanged with experts and doctors there, which layed a good foundation for their further academic exchanges and research cooperation.
